Abstract: Craniopharyngioma is a rare histologically benign brain tumor with potential malignant clinical course because of the high propensity of recurrence, deriving from the remnants of Ratkhe’s pouch, presenting as solid mass and partly as fluid-filled cyst. There are two main histological subtypes: adamantinomatous and papillary. The aim of this study is to evaluate statistical features of this tumor in the Republic of North Macedonia.

Invasive Intestinal Aspergillosis in the Setting of Autologous Graft Versus Host Disease after Hematopoietic Cell Transplant for Multiple Myeloma

Abstract: Autologous stem-cell transplant is used to treat a variety of neoplastic syndromes such as multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukemia, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In spite of its efficacy compared to other treatments, it predisposes patients to opportunistic infections and in rare cases, autologous graft versus host disease. In recent years, one opportunistic infection in particular, invasive aspergillosis, has become increasingly more common although survival rates remain low due to difficulty in diagnosis.

Leiomyosarcoma Metastatic to the Brain - Clinical Features and Therapeutic Challenges of a Rare Entity

Abstract: Brain metastases from leiomyosarcoma are very rare. We present 2 cases of intracranial metastatic leiomyosarcoma, discussing their clinical details, radiological and histological features and treatment outcome. Metastatic leiomyosarcoma to the brain, however, represents a therapeutic challenge, as these tumors are generally resistant to radiation therapy and systemic chemotherapy. Surgery was the treatment of choice in both cases.
